Two-night foodie break from £390pp

Escape to Islay, the “queen of the Hebrides”, to taste the best of the season in our new food-oriented break at The Machrie – a UK Top 30 Hotel by Condé Nast Traveller.

Experience Islay’s abundance this May and June, when the island is bursting with fresh local produce – from shellfish, salt marsh lamb and highland beef to foraged wild garlic and homemade bread with yellow gorse or seagrass from Singing Sands. Dinner is included one night (£50pp allocation) in 18 Restaurant – with its wide-angle sunset, ocean and links views.

May and June are a great time to visit, with long days to explore, optimum conditions on the fairways and greens, wildlife and wildflowers everywhere you look, a host of cultural events, and a possible glimpse of the Northern Lights if you’re lucky… You’ll also have the opportunity to visit Islay’s famous whisky distilleries, and head out for dinner in one of the great local pubs and restaurants (we can make recommendations and bookings for you) – with the chance to catch some live Scottish music.
